Easy Homemade Granola

Makes 5 cups (or 10 servings)

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup canola oil 
  • 1/2 cup honey or maple syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3 cups old-fashioned rolled oats
  • 1 cup sliced almonds
  • 1 cup raisins or other dried, chopped fruit

Directions

  1. Preheat oven 300F
  2. Line the baking sheet with parchment paper. 
  3. Whisk together the oil, honey, cinnamon and salt in a large bowl.
  4. Add the oats and almonds and stir to coat.
  5. Spread oats out onto a prepared baking sheet. Spread oats in an even layer.
  6. Bake for 20 minutes total.  Stir oats halfway through.
  7. Remove from the oven, add fruit, tamp down and cool.
  8. Store in an airtight container.
