
Makes 6 servings.
Ingredients:
- 6 apples, peeled, cored and chopped (6-7 cups)
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 3/4 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1-½ teaspoon lemon juice
- 1/2 cup sugar
Topping
- 1 cup light brown sugar
- 3/4 cup old fashioned oats
- 3/4 cup flour
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- Pinch of salt
- 1/2 cup cold butter, cut into small cubes
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350 F.
- Grease an 8×8 baking dish.
- In a mixing bowl, add chopped apples, sugar, 3/4 teaspoon cinnamon, and lemon juice. Stir to combine, then transfer to baking dish.
- In a separate mixing bowl, add topping ingredients. Use two forks or a pastry cutter to cut the butter into the oat mixture until mixture forms pea sized clumps.
- Spread topping evenly over apples in the baking dish.
- Bake 40-50 minutes, until golden brown and bubbly.
- Refrigerate any leftovers within 2 hours.
