Two Ingredient Yogurt Bagels

Could this bagel be any easier!? These make a great protein-filled breakfast or snack. Enjoy plain or with your favorite spread or toppings.

Servings: 4

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup nonfat plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 cup self-rising flour*
  • Optional Toppings: Egg white wash and bagel toppings of your choice such as sesame seeds, chia seeds, poppy seeds, or flaky salt

*No self-rising flour? No problem! Mix 1 cup all-purpose flour, 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder, and 1/2 teaspoon salt.

Directions:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Spray a cookie sheet with cooking spray or cover with parchment paper.
  • Mix flour and yogurt together.  If the dough feels too sticky, add more flour to better handle while shaping.
  • Divide the dough into 4 equal parts.  Roll each part into a long rope and form into a circle.  Or, shape all the dough into an elongated piece, and slice into 4 equal pieces. Bake each piece as is or punch a hole in the center for a more rustic-looking bagel.
  • Place on the prepared cookie sheet and top with optional egg white wash and/or toppings.
  • Bake for 20 minutes, then increase oven to 500°F and bake an additional 2 minutes or until the desired brownness is reached and an internal temperature of 190°F.
