About Us

JoCo EATS (easy, affordable, tasty solutions) was developed by Johnson County K-State Research and Extension Nutrition, Food Safety, and Health Agent in collaboration with the Johnson County Extension Master Food Volunteers. Our mission is to help improve the health and livelihoods of all Johnson County residents, especially those experiencing food insecurity or financial hardship.

JoCo EATS provides nutritious and affordable recipes along with information on stretching your food dollar, eating seasonally, and cooking confidently. We have many other services that are available upon request including but not limited to:

  • Nutrition, food safety, and health education presentations.
  • Distribution of health and wellness resources.
  • Facilitation of cooking demonstrations, recipe tastings, or hands-on cooking classes.
  • Provision of recipes to help increase the adoption and use of certain foods, especially those received by food pantries.
  • Supporting pantries to create nutrition messages and help clients make healthier choices.
To request any of these services or discuss other needs, contact foodhelp@jocogov.org or call 913-715-7000.
